Destiny Child’s singer, Michelle Williams, has always been vocal about her battle with depression. Apparently, the struggle has been ongoing and hasn’t gotten better. As a result of that, the now Gospel singer, has checked herself into a mental facility.
Sources tell us Williams is getting treated in a facility just outside of Los Angeles and has been there for the past several days. Michelle has been open with her struggles in the past … revealing her battle with depression in an interview last year.
In a statement Tuesday, Michelle says, “For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your well being.”

I truly admire her strength and courage, for her ability to speak out about her battle with depression helps people like me, who suffer from severe depression and anxiety. My battle has been almost fatal. On top of that I almost lost my husband and children. Fortunately, I have gotten a hold of my “mental issues” and I’ve learned to open up. Talk about my concerns. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without professional help, the help of my husband, and most importantly, my faith in The Most High. I’m praying for Michelle, truly, I am. I know that her faith in God will allow her to overcome her battle. It won’t be done overnight, but it will be done.
